The man suspected of carjacking a woman then robbing Whitney Bank In Lafayette earlier this week has been captured in Mississippi.
Late last night members of the U. S. Marshals Fugitive Task Force located 32-year-old Justin Seawright of Baton Rouge at an Economy Inn on US 90 in Bay St. Louis, Mississippi.
Earlier in the week, Seawright allegedly carjacked a woman in the Albertson’s parking lot at the corner of Ambassador Caffery and Congress Street and sped off in her white Mazda Tribute.
A day later, Seawright allegedly robbed the Whitney Bank located at the corner of Johnston Street and Arnould Boulevard at gunpoint.
While trying to flee the scene, a dye pack reportedly exploded resulting in Seawright dropping the gun and bag of money he had just scored.
According to witnesses, Seawright fled the scene in stolen car.
Seawright was booked into the Hancock County Jail awaiting extradition back to Lafayette.
