A Eunice teen who video taped a traffic stop and was arrested by Deputy Randall Broussard with the Lafayette Parish Sheriff’s Department last month got some good news today.
Alexander John Lege was arrested and charged with interfering with a law enforcement investigation back on April 11th.
According to reports, District Attorney Mike Harson has chosen not to pursue charges against the 18-year-old.
A veteran police officer in the area who wishes not to be identified shared his thoughts regarding the recorded traffic stop, “how embarrassing for this group of officers that not one of them either knew the correct action to take, or knowing it, failed to inform the others. Minus the tasers and batons, this is the Rodney king incident re-enacted.”
The young mans arrested captured the attention of national activist groups including Photography Is Not A Crime and Cop Block.
Now sit back and watch the number of ambulance chasing Lafayette Attorneys who won’t represent this teen for violation of his civil rights.
Lege still has pending charges in Eunice for a similar recording incidents with the Eunice Police Department,
