Lafayette, LA – On April 21, 2013, at approximately 2:30 am, Lafayette Police responded to the 100 block of East Main Street regarding an armed robbery. The victims advised they were parked in a vehicle in the 100 block of East Main Street when they were approached by 5 black males. Two of the suspects displayed handguns and demanded the victim’s wallets and cell phones. After the suspects stole the victim’s belongings, they fled the area on foot. Officers on Jefferson Street were notified by the victims of the robbery and one of the suspect’s was arrested. The second suspect was arrested near the intersection of Jefferson and Cypress Street without incident.
Lafayette Police arrested Laquinton Dejean(20) and Cliff Ledet, III(20), both of New Iberia and charged them with Armed Robbery. The victims were not injured during the incident. The case remains under investigation.
Ledet bond was set at $125,000 and is still incarcerated at the Lafayette jail.
Dejean’s bond was set at $25,000 and has since been released.
