Woman accused of striking 11-year-old family members in the face with a hair brush
On March 4, Calcasieu Parish Sheriff’s Office deputies were dispatched to a local middle school after receiving a complaint from school officials regarding Belinda S. Blessing, 39, 384 Victoria Drive, Moss Bluff, physically abusing an 11 year old family member who is a student at the school.
Upon arrival, deputies discovered Blessing struck the victim in the face with a hair brush, causing severe bruising and swelling to her eye.
When questioned by detectives, Blessing confirmed some of the allegations. Blessing was arrested on March 20 and booked into Calcasieu Correctional Center and charged with cruelty to a juvenile.
Judge Robert Wyatt set her bond at $10,000.
