Witness sought in fatal crash that claimed the life of a Duson man
Lafayette, LA – Traffic Investigators are attempting to locate a witness that is believed to have stopped and departed the scene of the crash before first responders arrived. The potential witness is described as a white male, mid 30’s, driving a newer model, dark colored pickup truck. The witness or anyone with information about the witness is asked to call Corporal Chris Beasley of the Lafayette Police Department Traffic Section at 337-291-8614.
On March 3, 2013, at approximately 11:00 pm, Lafayette Police responded to a single vehicle crash in the 3200 block of Cameron Street. According to investigators, a Chevrolet pickup was traveling west on Cameron Street when for unknown reasons left the roadway and struck a utility pole. The driver of the vehicle, Wilton John Hamilton (54) of Duson, was pronounced dead at the scene. The crash remains under investigation.
