Sunset man accused of murder after brawl at Mout’s bar
A Sunset man was arrested and charged with 2nd degree murder in the death of a Lafayette man at a local bar.
On Sunday March 3, 2013, at approximately 9:30 pm, Lafayette Police responded to a fight at Mout’s bar located at 3908 Moss Street.
When officers arrived they discovered 38 year old Lucas Fargo Jr. of Lafayette unconscious on the floor of the business.
Investigators discovered that a fight occurred in the bar at which time the victim sustained his injuries. Fargo was transported to an area hospital and was later pronounced dead.
The suspect, 37 year old Jay Lane of Sunset, was arrested and charged with 2nd Degree Murder.
Lane was booked into the Lafayette Parish Correctional Center and is being held on a $250,000 bond.
The case remains under investigation.
