Man accused of cursing kids, overturning a dryer and throwing a puppy in the bayou
Stephen Charpentier, 34, 100 block of Sydney Lane Centerville, LA was arrested on March 15, 2013 at 6:28 pm for domestic abuse battery in the presence of juveniles, simple criminal damage to property, cruelty to animals.
Police responded to a complaint of fighting on Sydney Lane in Centerville.
Upon arrival, the deputy learned from multiple witnesses that Charpentier and a 33 year old female victim were arguing when Charpentier committed a battery upon her.
During the argument, Charpentier overturned a dryer and used profanity repeatedly in the presence of three children in the residence.
He then went outside and began cursing at a neighbor’s children.
Before leaving the residence, Charpentier threw the children’s puppy into the Bayou.
Near the intersection of Third and Willow Streets, Franklin Police located and detained Charpentier until deputies could arrive.
Following the investigation, Charpentier was transported to the parish jail for booking and incarceration.
No bond is set.
