Lafayette Police dog takes a bite out of crime
On March 20, 2013, at approximately 2:40 am, Lafayette Police responded to an alarm activation at Simco Supermarket located at 821 West Simcoe Street.
Responding officers observed a suspect inside of the store placing items into a large bag and established a perimeter around the building.
As the suspect attempted to exit the supermarket, police say he was confronted by a Lafayette Police K-9 dog who took a bite out of crime when the suspect retreated back into the building according to the pokie.
Fouty-three-year old Raymond Zeno was arrested regarding this incident, treated at a local hospital for his dog bite and booked into the Lafayette Parish Correctional Center on one count of Simple Burglary of Business and Resisting an Officer.
As of publication, Zeno does not have a bond set.
