Lafayette man accused of trying to run his girlfriend down with his car
On March 16, 2012, at approximately 2:48 pm, Lafayette Police responded to the 3200 block of Ambassador Caffery Parkway regarding a disturbance.
According to witnesses, the victim was involved in a verbal altercation with her boyfriend and fled to a nearby business on foot.
The suspect pursued the victim in a vehicle, allegedly trying to strike her with the vehicle.
Witnesses said the suspect drove over curbs, bushes and in areas not designed for vehicle travel in an attempt to strike the victim.
The suspect, Joshua Broussard (22) of Lafayette, was arrested and charged with Attempted 2nd Degree Murder.
The victim, a 26 year old female of Lafayette, received minor injuries.
Broussard was booked into the Lafayette Parish Correctional Center and released on a $25,000 bond.
