Jennings man caught stealing crawfish from a pond according to cops
A Jennings man is accused of stealing crawfish from a farmer’s field, according to a news release from the Jeff Davis Parish Sheriff’s Office.
Christopher Ivey, commander of the criminal investigations division, said authorities received a call on Sunday night from a farmer on Hwy. 90 at Farm Supply Road about a man in his crawfish pond.
The farmer reported that he was checking his ponds around 8:30 p.m., when he spotted the man, dressed in all black.
Deputies arrived and arrested 44-year-old James Darrel Dubroc. He was booked for trespassing and theft of crawfish.
Authorities said Dubroc has been accused of stealing crawfish previously.
Dubroc was booked into the parish jail.
No bond has been set.
