Not guilty plea entered in Fontenot case
The 18-year-old Lafayette man accused of one count of first-degree murder and to two counts of attempted first-degree murder was scheduled to appear in court this morning for arraignment.
Fontenot’s attorney Thomas Guilbeau appeared on his behalf and entered pleas of not guilty on all three counts before 15th Judicial District Court before Judge Kristian Earles. Fontenot was not present in the courtroom.
Fontenot is accused of shooting at a fleeing vehicle back on February 1oth, killing 15-year-old Austin Rivault and injuring his two friends Cole Kelley and William Bellamy of Lafayette.
