Did a Breaux Bridge woman smuggle unapproved toiletries into the jail?
Did a Breaux Bridge woman smuggle unapproved toiletries into the jail?
After finding contraband earlier today in the St. Martin Parish Correctional Center, a Breaux Bridge woman was arrested.
Police say, Denise Songy, 41, of Breaux Bridge was allegedly conspiring with an incarcerated inmate to smuggle prohibited contraband into the St. Martin Parish Correctional Center in Breaux Bridge.
Songy was charged with introduction of illegal contraban into a penal facility.
It is unclear what Songy was trying to allegedly smuggle but according to Louisiana law, contraband could be, “food, toiletries, or clothing, unless authorized by the warden of the institution.”
Contraband could also be more serious stuff like a cell phone, stolen property, drugs, alcohol, etc.
Let’s hope she just attempted to smuggle some peanut butter in for her boo.
