Abbeville man accused of pellet gun attack indicted on murder charges
An 18-year-old Abbeville man has been indicted on attempted second degree murder charge and an illegal use of a weapon charge after allegeding shooting a man with a pellet gun.
Back on January 29th of this year, Abbeville Police arrested Christian Galley after being dispatched to a call in the 1000 block of E. Lafayette St.
The victim, Cuong Van Nguy said he was in his yard when he saw Galley load a rifle and fire it at him.
Investigators say Galley used a high velocity pellet riffle that shoots .177 caliber pellet with a velocity of 1,250 feet per second.
Nguy was transported to a local hospital with a pellet lodged in his chest cavity near his lung according to police.
Galley remains incarcerated at the Vermillion Parish Correctional Center.
