Warrant issued for New Iberia man who shot 8-year-old boy
Correction: (New Iberia Sheriff’s Office is now saying, the boy who was shot is 8 rather than 6 and the alleged shooter is his brother.)
Detectives with the Iberia Parish Sheriff’s Office have issued a warrant for the arrest of Akeam Daniels (DOB 01/25/1992) today as a result of a shooting incident yesterday in the 600 block of Robertson St. New Iberia.
Daniels is accused of shooting a 6-year-old little boy then shagging ass according to police. Witnesses on the scene told investigators the shooting was accidental.
Iberia Parish Sheriff’s Office has issued a warrant for Dainels charging him with aggravated 2nd degree battery, illegal discharge of a weapon and simple criminal damage to property over $500.
The 6 year old victim was transported to a hospital in Baton Rouge to receive treatment for his injuries.
