Two Acadiana High Students Arrested After Threatening to Bring A Gun On Campus

Acadiana High School The administration of Acadiana High School conducted a security drill during classes on Wednesday, February 6th 2013 after two students made verbal threats towards Acadiana High’s student body and staff members. 

The two students were overheard by others, threatening to bring a gun to campus on Friday, February 8th. The threats were reported to Acadiana High’s Principal David LeJeune on Thursday, February 7th; who immediately contacted the Scott Police Department.

An investigation was able to quickly identify the two students who threatened this behavior and both were taken into custody at that time. One student, aged 14 was sent to juvenile detention, while the other student, age 17, was arrested. 

The School District says, “We would like to reassure the parents and students of Acadiana High, as well as the community, that the matter has been resolved and there is no potential for danger following the speedy actions of the Scott Police Department.”
