Scallywag accused of beating her 86-yea-old mom
On February 26, at around 9:45 a.m., Calcasieu Parish Sheriff’s Office deputies were dispatched to a local hospital regarding the welfare of an 86 year old woman. Upon arrival, deputies discovered during an examination by doctors, the woman was found to have suffered from a fractured hip, abrasions to her head, and skin tears on her hand.
During further investigation it was revealed family member Jennifer D. Demary, 42, 300 Dobbertine Road, Lake Charles, contacted the elderly woman at approximately 4:15 a.m. that morning for a ride to a home on Orange Street in Lake Charles. Upon arrival to the home, Demary demanded money and the elderly victim’s car keys and when the victim refused, Demary pushed the elderly victim to the ground, causing the injuries.
Demary was arrested and booked into the Calcasieu Correctional Center and charged with 2nddegree battery; and cruelty to the infirmed.
Judge Clayton Davis set her bond at $65,000.
