Police receive a call from Terrance Jones alleging the woman stabbed him in the hand and took his cell phone.
Investigating his complaint, officers learned that Jones and the woman broke up and he moved out about a month ago. Jones, police said, returned to the house and was told several times to leave. He did so, but returned and tried to throw bleach into the face of his former partner, then choked her in front of children while demanding return of his phone.
The woman and the children told police Jones cut himself in a bid to blame it on her and get her in trouble with the law.
Officers also observed bruises on the neck of the victim.
Jones, 23, of 1815 Dudley is charged with domestic abuse battery by strangulation, aggravated battery, home invasion, unauthorized entry of an inhabited dwelling, entering after being forbidden and criminal damage to property.
His bond was set by 27th Dist. Judge Ellis Daigle at $20,500.
