Louisiana mom accused of murdering her 3-month-old
A 33-year-old Alexandria woman has been charged with first-degree murder after police found the body of her infant near an intersection Friday morning, according to police.
Tasha Jenkins was arrested after Alexandria police received a call around 11:20 a.m. about a possible homicide, police said.
Detectives began investigating and were led to a spot on Bayou Rapides near the intersection of Rapides Avenue and Bertie Street where the body was found, according to the release.
The body of the infant, whose age was not released, was recovered and sent for an autopsy.
No other information, including a motive or who led detectives to the infant’s body, has been released.
