Louisiana man accused of commiting feticide gets his bond revoked
A Walker man accused of cutting his unborn child from his pregnant wife was back in court today.
According to NBC 33 TV, a judge ruled on Monday, Feb. 4 that there’s enough probable cause to go ahead with a trial. The victim’s mother was called to the stand and shared a letter Jeffrey Reynolds had written to his wife, Paula. Reynolds told her if he was bailed out he planned to leave the state because he’s afraid for his life.
Based on this and other evidence the judge also decided not to set bail, so Reynolds will remain behind bars.
At Reynolds last court appearance he suggested to NBC33 News that synthetic drugs may have played a part in his actions.
“I love my wife and I love my son with all my heart,” he said. “I hope the state will make new laws and enforce laws against synthetic drugs that has ruined my family.”
