Busted In Acadiana

The  former Lafayette police officer who likely got special arragnement avoiding immediate arrest has been indicted on sexual battery and malfeasance in office charges - (which is a new charge) according to KATC TV-3.

Hagan is accused of forcefully fondling, groping, and kissing a Lafayette woman while on duty in November 2011. The victim of Hagan’s alleged deviant behavior has also filed a civil suit against the Lafayette City Police Deparmtment.

What is extremely crazy is Hagan was arraigned on June 29th of last year on one count of sexual battery where he pleaded not guilty.

Knowing a little bit about the legal process, I wonder why a grand jury had to indict Hagan for a charge he already pleaded not guilty to. The things that make you go mmmmm.

According to KATC, district Judge Thomas Frederick has issued a $50,000 bond on Hagan and his ordered that he have no contact with the alleged victim, however back in August of last year Hagan’s bond was set at $20,000 for Sexual Battery.
