Cops searching for two thugs accused of multiple robberies on McKinley Street
The Lafayette City Police Department is on the hunt for for two suspects accused of robbing three people on McKinley Street early this morning.
At around 2 a.m. this morning officers were called to the 200 block of McKinley Street afterseveral reports of thugs with dreadlocks robbing people.
The first victim was walking to his vehicle when the suspects produced a gun and sprayed pepper spray in his face. Taken from the victim was an undisclosed amount of cash.
The second victim was robbed after the suspects produced a gun and sprayed mace in his face. Taken from the victim was cash and jewelry.
The third victim was in her car when the suspects reached in and grabbed her purse.
The suspects are described as two black males, one 5 feet 3 inches tall with dreadlocks, and the other 5 feet 5 inches tall wearing a red and gray sweater.
The suspects were last seen running on General Mouton. Two victims reported minor injuries.
Detectives are asking anyone with information about the incident or the identity of the suspects to contact Lafayette Police or Crime Stoppers at 337-232-TIPS.
