Busted In Acadiana

The victim of the fire at the Benchmark Lounge on Saturday has been identified, according to a news release from Alton Trahan, public information officer for the Lafayette Police Department.

The victim was Kristina Henry Kiplinger, 42 of Lafayette.

Kiplinger was a patron and friend of the employees of the lounge, the news release states.

Kiplinger was also at the lounge the night prior to the fire.

According to Kiplinger’s Facebook page, she has worked at the St. Mary Parish Sheriff’s Office

The cause of death and fire is still under investigation.
