Arrest warrant shows Seth Fontenot shot at fleeing teens
According to the Affidavit of Arrest for Seth Fontenot:
“On Sunday, February 10th, 2013 the defendant fired three shots, which subsequently struck all three victims, who were located inside a vehicle.
Investigators canvased the 100 block of Green Meadow Road where detective recovered three spent casings in the yard.
The defendant was indentified as Mr. Seth Fontenot and was located at “Another Broker Egg”, located at 112 Rue Promende in Lafayette, Louisiana.
Upon making contact with Mr. Fontenot, he was advised of his miranda warnings, at which time he indicated that he had discharged his firearm three times.
Afterwards, detective located his vehicle in the parking lot of Bonefish Grill located at 1912 Kaliste Saloom Road in Lafayette, Louisiana.
Upon looking inside the vehicle, which can be described as a 2007 Chevrolet pick-up truck, detectives observed a Berette semi automatic pistol inside the center console.
Mr. Fontenot was asked if the pistol located inside his vehicle was one he used in the offense, which he stated yes.
Next Mr. Fontenot was transported to the Lafayette Police Department, where he was read the Lafayette Police Department Advice of Rights form.
Mr. Fontenot acknowledged afterwords that he understood his rights and agreed to be questioned.
While interviewing Mr. Fontenot, he confessed to firing his gun at a fleeing vehicle, which he believed contain the suspects he had seen on his property as well as his neighbor’s property at the time of the incident.
Mr. Fontenot stated his intentions were to only scare the victims, not to inflict bodily harm and/or death.
The shooting resulting in the death of one juvenile, which sustained one gunshot wound to the back of his head.
The other two juvenile victims in this case sustained gunshot wounds.
One of which was struck in the ankle by one round and the other victim was struck in the back of the neck, both are currently in stable condition.
