Busted In Acadiana

On February 5, the Calcasieu Parish Sheriff’s Office arrested Christopher S. Benoit, 40, 2212 Hillary Drive, Vinton, for a 3^rdtime and charged him with an additional 8 counts of aggravated incest after detectives received a complaint regarding Benoit sexually abusing a 3^rdfemale family member on numerous occasions for over 4 years beginning in 1989 when the victim was 8 years old.

Benoit was previously arrested on January 17 after an investigation revealed he had inappropriate sexual contact with a female family member on numerous occasions, beginning in 2009 when the girl was 9 years old. He was booked into the Calcasieu Correctional Center and charged with 2 counts of aggravated rape; and 1 count of aggravated incest with a bond of $270,000 set by Judge Ron Ware.

After his first arrest, the investigation continued and detectives received a separate complaint regarding Benoit sexually abusing a 2^ndfemale family member on numerous occasions beginning in 1988 when the victim was 6 years old. Benoit was re-arrested on January 24 and charged with 8 counts of aggravated incest and Judge Clayton Davis set his bond at $2,000,000 on the new charges.

Judge Kent Savoie set his bond at $2,000,000 on the new charges, bringing his total bond to $4,700,000 for all three arrests.
