6-year-old shot in New Iberia
Sheriff Louis Ackal advises that on February 18, 2013 at approximately 6:30 p.m. Deputies with the Iberia Parish Sheriff’s Office responded to a shooting at the 600 block of Robertson St. New Iberia. Deputies learned that a 6 year old male had been shot. Witnesses stated the shooting was accidental. However, detectives are conducting a criminal investigation at this time.
Deputies believe the person responsible for the shooting is Akeam Daniels (DOB 1/25/1992 of 702 S. Hopkins Street, New Iberia. Daniels fleed the area on foot after the shooting. Detectives are attempting to locate Daniels at this time.
Detectives are asking if any one has information on Daniels location to contact the Iberia Parish Sheriff’s Office at 337-369-3711.
