Who Got Busted?

Two teens were robbed at gunpoint Sunday in New Iberia then stunned with a taser before their three assailants fled on foot, according to the Iberia Parish Sheriff’s Office.

The teens were driving along Fonteleau Drive when three men approached the vehicle with a handgun and a taser. One of the men pointed the handgun at the teens and demanded money, according to a press release from the sheriff’s office.

One of the suspects then stunned the two teens with a taser before fleeing.

The teens then drove to Admiral Doyle Drive where they asked for help in contacting authorities. They were treated at the scene for minor injuries.

The sheriff’s office is searching for the three men involved in the incident. They are described as black males, all wearing hooded sweatshirts — one gray, one black and one camouflage. Deputies searched the area but were unable to find them.

Capt. Ryan Turner, the public information officer for the Iberia Parish Sheriff’s office, said investigators are still trying to determine how much money — if any — was stolen.

Anyone with information is asked to call 337-369-3711.
