Who Got Busted?

Bill Leger

According to KATC, Toxicology results show former KATC anchor Bill Leger’s blood alcohol content was three times the legal limit when he crashed his Jeep last month, according to State Trooper Stephen Hammons. Leger’s BAC was .26. The legal limit in Louisiana is .08. Leger died in a car crash on Dec. 22 in Scott.

The crash happened after Leger overcorrected, and his vehicle rolled over. Shortly after, his vehicle was hit by 52-year-old Clint Melancon of Carencro. He was charged with OWI.

Whether Leger died when his Jeep rolled over or died from the second accident is being investigated, Hammons said. At the time of his death, Leger was a news anchor at KFDM Channel 6 in Beaumont, TX.
