Murder suspect still on the loose

On December 13th, 2011, Ruston Miller was discovered with a gunshot wound to the chest outside his residence in the 4900 block of the Evangeline Hwy near Basile.

Miller was discovered deceased outside his home at about 1:00 pm. The Sheriff’s Office told KATC that the murder could have taken place the night before.

According to KATC, the Tuesday before Miller was shot to death he was involved in an altercation at Walmart. The persons involved followed him home and shot at his house three times according to the station.

Miller was also arrested earlier that week for aggravated assault charges.
