Lafayette, LA – Lafayette Police have identified the victim in Wednesday’s crash as Christopher Clement Jr. (24) of Lake Arthur. The cause of the crash remains under investigation.

Police Investigate Fatality on Ambassador Caffery

On January 23, 2013, at approximately 11:45 am, Lafayette Police responded to the southbound lane of the 600 block of Ambassador Caffery Parkway regarding a major crash involving two motorcycles. Investigators indicate that two motorcycles were traveling south on Ambassador Caffery Parkway, when they observed traffic at a stop on top of the overpass. One of the operators of the motorcycles was able to lay his motorcycle down and stop. The second rider, a 24 year old male, crashed into the rear of a gray F 150 pickup truck stopped in the right lane of travel. The second rider died at the scene from injuries received in the crash. The first motorcycle rider and the driver of the truck reported no injuries.

The identity of the deceased is being withheld pending the notification of the next of kin. The crash remains under investigation.
