Morning Crash Leaves Motorcyclist in Critical Condition

MotorcycleAccidentLafayette, LA – On January 17, 2013, at approximately 6:30 am, Lafayette Police responded to a crash involving a motorcycle, located in the 3700 block of Moss Street. Traffic investigators indicate that a pickup truck was attempting a U-turn maneuver, when it was struck by a motorcycle traveling on Moss Street. The driver of the motorcycle, a 69 year old male of Carencro, was transported to an area hospital and remains in critical condition. The operator of the truck, Joseph Long (34) of Breaux Bridge, was issued a citation for Improper U-turn and later arrested for 1st Degree Vehicular Negligent Injury. Investigators do not suspect alcohol as being a contributing factor in the crash. The crash remains under investigation.
