Busted In Acadiana

A 14-year-old student was shot at an Atlanta middle school Thursday afternoon, WXIA-TV reports.

The student was shot in the back of the neck at Price Middle School and was awake when taken to Grady Memorial Hospital, said Atlanta Public Schools public information officer Steve Alford.

Police have apprehended a suspect who has tentatively been identified as another student. So far no details about the shooter or the weapon that was used.

A teacher was treated at the scene for minor cuts and bruises from possibly being trampled in the confusion after the shooting, WXIA says.

The school has been locked down.
