University of Louisiana at Lafayette Police arrested Ryan M. Kazemi, 35, Tuesday and booked him with terrorizing after he was accused of making threats on Facebook referencing the university and its police department.
Kazemi is not employed by the university and is not a student, said UL Lafayette Police Sgt. Billy Abrams.
He said the university police began an investigation because “some of the threats were directed toward university police.”
Kazemi referenced other law enforcement agencies in his Facebook posts, but did not characterize the references as threats.
Abrams said he could not disclose details on the Facebook posts or how the police department became aware of the posts.
“It’s still under investigation,” he said.
Kazemi was arrested without incident at a home on Betts Street.
“There was no danger to the university community at that time,” Abrams said.
