Louisiana man accused of raping 11-year-old boy gets plea deal
An Oakdale man accused of having sexual contact with an 11-year-old boy pleaded guilty to a lesser charge Tuesday in 14th Judicial District Court, his attorney said.
Melvin P. Fox, 44, was charged with aggravated rape, but pleaded guilty to simple battery by domestic violence and was sentenced to six months in prison, with credit for time served, Alexander said.
Fox has been in prison for 10 months, Alexander said.
“We were anxious to go to trial, but we got him out a little sooner by doing this,” Alexander said.
Alexander said Fox passed a polygraph test.
