What they aren’t telling you is that Mr. Toups went in front of the Grand Jury January 10, 2013 and the vote was 9-1 in favor of not indicting, they aren’t telling you that Michael Darby (RIP) was full of drugs (and yes there is a toxicology report to evidence that) and they aren’t telling you that Mr. Toups defended his brother under Louisiana Revised Statute 14:22 (self defense of others). No Grand Jury is not going to indict Mr. Toups. What they also aren’t telling you is that the Judge in St Landry Parish spoke to the Darby family in violation of the Code of Canons for Judges and a complaint will be filed with the Judiciary Commission for having ex parte communications and a conflict of interest and ethical misconduct. They also aren’t telling you that its possible that the compliant against Mr. Toups is trumped up because the Darby family pulled some strings in St Landry Parish because they felt they could not get justice in Lafayette Parish. So in essence, the Darby family will end up getting judges removed from the bench and lawyers disbarred for doing special favors. So if the advertiser wants to report the truth, why don’t you report the facts, not speculation. Complaints have been filed with the State Attorney General’s office, the FBI and the Louisiana Judiciary Commission. You know, Mr. Toups has people that can pull strings as well if the Darby family wants to play that game. I feel sorry for their son but it does not negate the fact that it was done in the self defense of another person under the Stand Your Ground law and that is why the Grand Jury chose not to indict. Mark my words, this will all unfold very shortly and higher ups will begin making your news paper but not in a good way. I wish them all the best of luck.According to the press release from the Lafayette City Police last year…
Lafayette Police have arrested Kyle James Toups (26) of Carencro, charging him with 2nd Degree Murder. On October 16, 2012, investigators issued an arrest warrant for Toups. Investigators revealed that a disturbance occurred early Sunday morning in downtown Lafayette between Toups and Darby, at which Toups allegedly stabbed Darby with a knife. Darby died as a result of the injuries received during the disturbance. At approximately 10:00 pm last night members of the Beaumont U.S. Marshal’s Violent Offenders Task Force arrested Toups in Newton County, Texas, without incident. Toups is being held in the Newton County Jail until he can be extradited back to Louisiana. The case remains under investigation.
Fishy! Fishy! Fishy!
Suspects generally NEVERRRRRRRRRRRR testify before a Grand Jury.
