Macade Harrington, shot to death by his father.

The Vermilion Parish Sheriff’s Office has arrested a 67-year-old Abbeville man in the shooting death of his son, authorities said Thursday morning.

Charles Larry Harrington is suspected of shooting 40-year-old Macade Jude Harrington Wednesday night, according to a news release from Sheriff Mike Couvillon.

Harrington is being held at the Vermilion Parish Correctional Center on suspicion of manslaughter and no bond had been set as of Thursday morning, the news release stated.

Couvillon said Macade Harrington, who lived in Kaplan, traveled to his father’s Abbeville home, where the two fought.

Couvillon said the fight “ultimately led to the fatal shooting.”
