Busted In Acadiana

Deputies in St. Tammany Parish said a father shot his son during a house party at the father’s home in Covington.

Jody Camardelle, 43, was arrested early Sunday morning in the 100 block of Penn Mill Lakes Boulevard.

The Sheriff’s Office said it received a call shortly after 10 p.m. Saturday in reference to a shooting.

Witnesses told authorities that Camardelle and his son got into an argument during a party at the father’s home.

The 19-year-old son and his girlfriend went outside to let Camardelle calm down, the Sheriff’s Office said, but Camardelle emerged from his garage, armed with a handgun, shouting at his son.

Authorities said Camardelle fired at his son, striking him in the stomach.

Camardelle was arrested at his home, but was uncooperative with investigators, the Sheriff’s Office said.
