Busted In Acadiana

During late December 2012, a father of a 15 year old female filed a complaint stating that he recently found out his daughter was in a sexual relationship with a 39 year old male from Paincourtville. Upon investigation, it was learned that the 15 year old had met the suspect through a mutual friend. The victim stated that the suspect came up with the idea of telling her father that she was going to tutor children at a local church in Paincourtville. The visits to Paincourtville took place over several months. She stated that he bought her an I-Phone, clothing, jewelry and paid for some beauty salon visits. She admitted that they had sex on five different occasions in Assumption Parish.

The suspect, Lonnie M. Fortner, age 39, of 122 Ideal Street, Paincourtville, Louisiana, was taken into custody yesterday and charged with 5 counts of Carnal Knowledge of a Juvenile (Felony) and 5 counts of Contributing to the Delinquency of a Juvenile. He was taken to the Assumption Parish Detention Center where he was booked. His bond has not been set as of the time of this news release.

It should be noted that Fortner is a registered sex offender as a result of a 2003 conviction   in Assumption Parish. He had completed a 5 year sentence for Carnal Knowledge of a Juvenile and Pornography involving a Juvenile.
