Texas Rangers arrested Kent County deputy Duane Eric West, 28, after conducting an investigation sparked by a complaint from a 13-year-old girl’s mother.
The mother called authorities on Dec. 31, setting off an investigation by Rangers and Child Protective Services.
The Kent County Sheriff’s Office cooperated and participated in the investigation, according to a Department of Public Safety news release.
West is being held at the Garza County Jail on a $400,000 bail.
West worked as a full-time Kent County deputy.
