Busted In Acadiana

On Monday December 31, 2012, at approximately 4:00 pm, Lafayette Police responded to a residence in the 200 block of Chester Street regarding a shooting in progress.  Responding officers learned that an earlier altercation had occurred at the address.  Victims on the scene reported that the suspect returned to the address, fired several shots, and fled the scene.  The suspect, Dovontay Helaire (17) Lafayette, Louisiana later turned himself in and was charged with (4) Counts of Aggravated Assault with a Firearm.  No injuries were reported.  The incident remains under investigation.
