Busted In Acadiana

Back on December 3rd, 2012, we were the first to report that the Abbeville Police Department was investigating the death of a 3-month-old Jayla Broussard on November 25th, 2012.

For unknown reasons, we learned of the ongoing investigation from a family member of the deceased toddler rather than the Abbeville Police Department.

Shortly after the toddler’s death, we learned that the target of the ongoing investigation were the child’s mother Mindy Broussard and her fiancee Shane Vincent.

We were also advised that the original investigator assigned to the child’s death by the Abbeville Police Department was related to one of the suspects, however, we have not been able to confirm this. 

Jayla Broussard’s death was ruled a homicide on December 5th, 2012,however, no arrest have been made. It’s unclear when or if the Abbeville Police Department will ever file criminal charges against either suspect.
