Sheriff Louis Ackal states that Detectives with the Iberia Parish Sheriff’s Office are investigating two separate home invasions that occurred on December 13, 2012. The first incident occurred at approximately 12:30 a.m. on the 100 Block of Reynolds Street, New Iberia. A female victim age 27 advised three black males forced their way through the front door of her residence. The victim advised that once the victims were inside the residence they demanded money as they held the victim at gunpoint. The suspects were able to steal electronics and other items from the residence. The victim advised the suspects fled on foot from the residence in an unknown direction. The suspects are described as three black males, one wearing a red jacket with unknown type of logos on the jacket. The second suspect was described as wearing a black jacket and was armed with a handgun.
The second incident occurred at approximately 1:17 a.m. on the 600 block of Myrtis Street New Iberia, LA. The victim was a female age 28 who advised that four black males forced their way into the residence and also demanded money from her at gunpoint. The victim stated that the suspects were able to steal money and electronics from the residence. The suspects were described as four black males, one wearing a black jacket with logos and had a white bandanna covering his face. The second suspect had on a red jacket and black bandanna also covering his face. All four suspects fled on foot from the residence in an unknown direction. Detectives with the Iberia Parish Sheriff’s Office believe the suspects in the two home invasions are possibly the same. Detectives do have persons of interest identified at this time.
