Sheriff Louis Ackal advises the Iberia Parish Sheriff’s Office Sex Offender Registry Unit arrested three suspects on charges pertaining to convicted sex offenders. Elton Hopes Jr. (DOB 08-03-1978 of 806 Hubertville Road, Jeanerette, LA) was arrested on 12/10/2012 for failure to notify a change of address. Detectives learned that Hopes had moved to a new address in Vermillion Parish and neglected to notify law enforcement officers in Vermillion Parish or Iberia Parish. Hopes was arrested on a warrant by the Vermillion Parish Sheriff’s Office and was later transported to the Iberia Parish Jail where he faces charges. Detectives arrested Albert Prevost (DOB 07-12-1969 of 626 Louise Street, New Iberia) for failure to complete Community Notification. Prevost was arrested on a warrant on 12-05-2012 and booked into the Iberia Parish Jail. Detectives also arrested Rickey Fusilier (DOB 03-26-1957 of 809 W. Pershing Street, New Iberia. Fusilier was charged with failure to register as a sex offender and arrested on 12-13-2012 on a warrant. Fusilier was released from custody on 12-06-2012 and failed to register within three business days of his release. Fusilier was booked into the Iberia Parish Jail.
