A man and woman have been charged in a home invasion which occurred Thanksgiving week in Eunice and a second man is being sought.
St. Landry Parish Sheriff’s deputies this week arrested Stephen J. Young, 23, of 1001 North 8th Street, Eunice and Leila Koubi, 28, of Breaux Bridge and formerly of Eunice.
The third suspect is Zacharia Brasseaux.
According to a sheriff’s spokesperson, a woman contacted authorities on Nov. 21, saying someone armed with a handgun had forced their way into her Jeff Thibodeaux Road home and demanded her prescription medications.
That suspect was subsequently identified as Brasseaux.
While in the house, the suspect terrified his victim by shooting the gun into the floor, then fleeing with her medications, authorities said.
Investigation revealed the suspect had two alleged accomplices, identified as Young and Koubi.
They are charged with home invasion, armed robbery with the use of a firearm and theft of medication.
Young’s most recent arrest, according to records, was Nov. 4 by Eunice police on a possession of marijuana charge.
He was arrested Aug. 17 on a theft charge and twice in December 2011 on driving under suspension charges.
Koubi was arrested on traffic and drug paraphernalia charges in Eunice on Feb. 21, Mardi Gras, this year, on simple battery charges in Feb. 2011 and on traffic charges in Oct. 2010.
