On Wednesday morning, a young woman, who has yet to be identified, called police after coming home from work to find an intruder in her home. She was bound with duct tape and then raped. “There was no forced entry. ” Gallow stated, “However, there was a window that was found open.”
Gallow says an attack of this magnitude has not happened in the city in several years, and urges the public to call police if they see anything suspicious.
“Don’t think it’s not important. Call the police if you see someone near someone’s apartment or home, and if you see someone suspicious.”
The suspect is described as a 6’1 black male, medium to dark skin tone. He was wearing dark clothing and a ski mask at the time of the attack. Contact the Opelousas Police Department at 948-2500.
