Who Got Busted?

The Vermilion / Municipal Narcotics Task Force recently made the following drug related arrests:

After receiving information that illicit narcotics were being sold and transported out of a certain vehicle in the Abbeville area, agents traveled to the said area to conduct an investigation. Upon arrival, agents noticed the vehicle in question leaving the scene. Upon doing so the driver committed a traffic violation. Agents conducted a traffic stop and as they approached the subjects, and began speaking to them, they noticed suspected narcotics in plain view.

Agents then asked for consent to search the vehicle, which was granted. A further search yielded more suspected marijuana. Blake Davis (dob 7-02-90) of Abbeville, was arrested and charged with possession with the intent to distribute marijuana. The passenger of the vehicle, Carl Vallot Jr (dob 1-24-84) of Lafayette, was also arrested on outstanding failure to appear warrants for weapons and drug charges.

Agents received information that one Nathaniel Rice (dob 02-26-92) of Abbeville was allegedly selling crack cocaine. Agents conducted a sting operation in which Rice was to deliver a large amount of crack cocaine to an operative. Upon agents setting up surveillance, Rice arrived, driven by Terrence Felix (dob 10-20-90) also of Abbeville. Agents moved in and upon detaining the suspects found Rice to be in possession of several rocks of suspected crack cocaine. Both suspects were taken into custody and interviewed. It was later found that Felix facilitated the transportation to Rice in order to conduct the sale of the drugs. Rice was charged with possession with the intent to distribute crack cocaine, and resisting an officer. Felix was charged with principle to possession with the intent to distribute crack cocaine.
