Woman charged in death of 11-year-old
State Police have charged a Mamou woman in an accident that killed an 11-year-old girl.
Alyssa Guillory of Ville Platte died on the afternoon of July 10 when a pickup driven by Julie Banks, 44, ran off La. 104 in a curve at Chataignier and hit a tree.
Banks was charged Thursday with negligent homicide, negligent injuring, careless operation and operating an unsafe vehicle.
A 12-year-old girl and a 13-year-old boy received minor injuries in the crash.
