Who Got Busted?

A 28-year-old Breaux Bridge man was booked into the St. Martin Parish Correctional Center on three counts of attempted first degree murder and one count of domestic abuse battery.

This arrest is in connection with a shooting that occurred yesterday in Breaux Bridge on Main St involving a former law man and his family.

Police identified the alleged shooter as Darren Duhon, originally from Abbeville.

According to reports, police identified the victims as former Breaux Bridge Chief of Police, Charlie Thibodeaux, his wife and mother-in-law.

All three victims were listed in stable condition as of yesterday.

Duhon allegedly fled the scene after the shooting and was apprehended in Abbeville. The Abbeville transferred Duhon to the Breaux Bridge Police Department where he was later transported to the St. Martin Parish Correctional Center.

Bond on Duhon has been set at $750,000.00 on the attempted first degree murder charges and $5,000.00 for the domestic abuse battery charge.

It’s unclear what the motive of the shooting was. The investigation continues.
