Busted In Acadiana

Look at what one of our fans pointed out on YouTube published by Brotherjx in February 2010.

In the video Lafayette City Police Officer Officer Bart Ryder can be seen screaming “shut up” and repeatedly shaking a young black female suspect seated. Unfortunately we can’t find any news coverage of this incident by local media.

It’s unclear whether an Internal Affairs Investigation was ever ordered by Chief James ‘Jim’ Craft or whether any discipline was handed down to Officer Ryder, however, to our knowledge Officer Ryder is still employed by the Lafayette City Police Department.

At the end of the video, it appears that an unidentified Lafayette City Police Officer tries to confiscate the videographer’s phone.

It’s unclear whether the unidentified Officer was successful in confiscating the videographer’s recording device, however similar cases of Police confiscating phones in other areas of the country have led to civil rights lawsuits.

Makes us wonder, would the Lafayette City Police Office try to confiscate recording devices from KATC, KLFY, The Advertiser or even BIA?
