According to the The Advertiser, Carl Phillips, the alleged Goldman St. murder suspect was captured following an early-morning raid of his St. Landry Parish hideout.
According to the paper, Phillips was arrested without incident in Cankton after officers from multiple agencies stormed into the home. Phillips is accused of killing John Dean in a July 29 shooting on Goldman Street.
Phillips was transported to the Lafayette Parish Correctional Center, where he has been charged with second-degree murder.
The Lafayette Police Department, Cankton Police Department, St. Landry Parish Sheriff’s Office and S. W. A. T. Team, and the U. S. Marshal’s Office took part in the operation.
