A woman wanted for firing several shots at a man in a Walmart Parking lot on Easter Sunday was captured by authorities. Esclarea Smith, 22, of Shreveport was taken into custody in Las Vegas, Nevada by members of the United States Marshal’s Task Force. Smith was on the run for nearly 22 days until ultimately being captured in a Las Vegas hotel room. Information received from a Shreveport-Caddo Crime stoppers tip helped identify Smith as the suspect in the April 8th shooting that occurred in the Wal-Mart parking lot in the 1100 block of Shreveport-Barksdale Highway.
Smith was being sought on an outstanding warrant for attempted second degree murder with a bond amount of $100,000. Smith will be held at the Clark County jail awaiting extradition back to Shreveport to face attempted murder charges.
